Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using HiddenType(“Service”, “we”, “us”, or “our”), you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. These terms apply to all users including free, paid, and trial accounts.

2. Description of Service

HiddenTypeprovides AI-powered writing tools including an AI text humanizer, AI content detector, paraphrasing tool, grammar checker, and citation checker. The Service is provided “as is” and is subject to change at any time.

Word limits are applied per billing cycle (monthly). Unused words do not roll over. Plan word limits reset on your billing anniversary date each month.

3. User Accounts

You must provide accurate information when creating an account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and password.HiddenType cannot and will not be liable for any loss or damage from your failure to maintain account security.

You may not use another person's account, share your account credentials, or create accounts using automated means. One person may only maintain one free account.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

• Violate any applicable laws or regulations
• Submit content that is illegal, defamatory, harassing, or infringing on third-party rights
• Attempt to reverse engineer, scrape, or extract our underlying AI models or prompts
• Resell or redistribute access to the Service without written permission
• Use automated scripts or bots to make API calls in excess of your plan limits
• Submit malicious code, spam, or content designed to harm others

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms at our sole discretion.

5. Academic Integrity

You are solely responsible for ensuring your use of HiddenTypecomplies with your institution's academic integrity policies. HiddenTypedoes not condone academic dishonesty. By using our Service, you represent that you are using it in compliance with your institution's rules and applicable laws.

6. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its interface, design, and underlying technology, is owned by HiddenType and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.

You retain ownership of content you submit to the Service. By submitting content, you grant HiddenType a limited, non-exclusive license to process it solely to provide the Service. We do not use your content to train AI models.

7. Payment and Subscriptions

Paid plans are billed on a recurring monthly or annual basis. All prices are in USD. By subscribing, you authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis until you cancel.

You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period — you will retain access to paid features until then. We do not offer prorated refunds for partial billing periods.

We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice. Price changes will not affect your current billing period.

8. Refund Policy

If you are not satisfied with your subscription, contact us at legal@hiddentype.com within 7 days of your initial purchase for a full refund. Refunds are not available after 7 days or for renewals. Promotional or discounted plans are non-refundable.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE ERROR-FREE, UNINTERRUPTED, OR THAT HUMANIZED TEXT WILL BYPASS ANY SPECIFIC AI DETECTOR IN ANY SPECIFIC CONTEXT.

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, HIDDENTYPE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF PROFITS, OR ANY ACADEMIC OR PROFESSIONAL CONSEQUENCES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by email or by posting a notice on our website. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any dispute arising from these Terms shall be resolved in the courts of Delaware.
